History of “Partyfest”:

Partyfest was founded by Lian Fourie in 2009.
The Concept of a social competition between entities such as hostels/residences/day houses/schools & now even Zim Societies has become a HUGE hit with the help of social media, press, KO Rhythm(National Dance Comp), entertainment & exploring of different cultures. The competition originated with 2 seasons for SA Universities, ladies against ladies & gents against gents with as much support from the opposite sex of course.
Now it is no longer limited & expanding to all kinds of entities as previously mentioned because of the popularity of hosting the social event of the year & the newly added “KO Rhythm (National Dance Comp)” within Partyfest. The main idea of the concept is to host the biggest social event of the year filled with entertainment and creative decor through movie theme’s with team work from the entire entity & as much public support as possible. Each competitor will have 1 night at the venue that is pre-selected by Partyfest in the region to prove their social capabilities, unity & gees. There are 3 winning title categories in Partyfest namely Best Décor, KO Rhythm, Overall and the relevant winners will receive a cash prize and title trophy of their Division (Male/Female).
 
In 2012 Lian founded the new special events division called Partyfest X, inspired by the movie project X but obviously much more controlled this division’s sole purpose was to create supper events with next level entertainment but still relevant to the style of a traditional partyfest event. The goal was also to invite the national network of all competing universities to these “Special Events” happening during holiday time and also focus on hitting holiday hot spots. In 2012 December 15th the 1st ever partyfest x was hosted @Jolly Dolphin Jbay and was a magnificent success. The venue received 1800 people.
This event division will be expanding to different locations & has new huge opportunities coming in 2014!
