Different kinds of play...

Exploratory play

Children explore the objects and things around them.

Mastering skills through play

Children practise certain actions until they have mastered the skill.

Construction play

Children use toys to express their thoughts about and their understanding of the world around them.

Fantasy play

Children act out the roles to learn what is expected of others. They also take on roles which would normally frighten them in order to overcome feelings of helplessness and fear.
