Junior group: 3 - 4 Year Olds
Your 3 - 4 year old will continue to grow and develop in many ways in the coming year. Children in this age group will speak 250 – 500 words and answer simple questions. They speak clearly and like to tell stories. Sentences consist of five to six words. By the age of 4 they will speak in complete sentences. Your child will start asking lots and lots of questions. This is a normal developmental milestone. Fantasy play becomes more creative. Pretend play becomes more interesting and involved. At this stage children may start to develop unrealistic fears too, such as believing in a monster lurking in the closet or fear of the dark.

Middle group: 4 - 5 Year Olds

Your child is growing up. During this age children begin to develop greater independence, self-control and creativity. They are eager to try new things, play with their toys for longer periods of time and express their emotions better when they get frustrated. 4 - 5 year olds are curious and able to carry on a conversation. Their thought process and vocabulary grow. They can answer simple questions easily and logically. Most children at this age enjoy singing, rhyming and making up words. They are energetic, silly and at times noisy and boisterous.
Gr. R group: 5 - 6 Year Olds

At this age, children form simple friendships, but their most important emotional life is still located inside the home. They come in contact with different ideas and ways of behaving at school and have to fit into a whole new system of rules that might be very different from those at home. This can be confusing and tiring. It is normal for children of this age to be clingy, bossy or teary, especially after school. Each child responds to pressure in their own way.
